The above is a model that i've made in Research:Architecture class during my foundation year in Queensland. My project was to design an architectural office situated on the top floor. The model was made after drafting the plan and elevation of the office. As you can see, my model consists of the office with balcony (extended cardboard) and also a removable rooftop, the masking paper resembles glass and the toothpicks are the pillars. The area near the balcony is supposed to be the main work area while the back are function rooms including the meeting room, kitchen, storage etc.

Among all the buildings i have seen, the St.Louis Gateway Arch has no doubt inspired me the most in being an architect. The building was built by Eero Saarinen in 1965 and was a memorial to Thomas Jefferson and the westward expansion. Its design is simple but distinctive, and is very massive too. The construction work involved is just unthinkable and is quite impressive for a building during the 1960's. This is why this had been my favourite building and I really admire Eero Saarinen and his works.

The above picture was taken after noon at about 5 pm at Centenial park. I had attempted to take a photo directly at the Sun and the results were interesting. In the pictures, the sun forms a bleached spot while having beams of light spanning across the sky, forming a cross-like shape. The camera did show a white line cutting the picture from the left to right, but somehow wasnt able to capture it. Nevertheless, I find it to be a very satisfying picture.
